Administration > Mentors

Mentoring is an important aspect of the MAI program. The relationship that is developed between mentor and student increases the student’s chances of staying sober, progressing in treatment, and developing long-lasting life skills.

Studies have shown that mentorship in recovery produces the highest success rate. So why haven’t more treatment facilities incorporated the mentorship approach in their treatment programs? The answer is that most treatment facilities have not been able to develop an alumni program that fully utilizes its former clients. The MAI program invites its alumni, sober dorm residents, and outpatient students to all of its activities, study sessions, and graduations. Since most MAI students end up staying in the local Orange County community, we are able to draw from a large pool of successful alumni to help mentor our current students.

We also invite alumni to intern in the MAI program. For a current list of our available mentors, please see our staff page.

Mentors are also available to answer questions you may have about their experience in the program or in offering their own experience, strength, and hope.
